Biography

Human destiny is both complex and mysterious - no matter how long one lives and what one is occupied with, one can never fully comprehend the secrets of fate. That is, as time passes, while some things become clear, the mind lacks the strength and the intellect lacks the capacity to know others. Perhaps this is why contemplating one's own existence invigorates a person mentally, encouraging them to move forward tirelessly and unceasingly.

For science and creativity, for the scientist and the creator, such a feeling of motivation rooted in personality is extremely important. Otherwise, any talent is doomed to either stop or shatter by getting involved in the fleeting competitions of life. Among the people of science and art, there are many who gain attention with the boldness and vigor of their initial steps, only to stop completely later; just as there are many who, unable to endure the hardships and difficulties of the chosen path, turn science and art into a means of livelihood.

A scientist is considered, first and foremost, a person whose life is inseparable from science and whose science is inseparable from life. Only then can a person fully dedicate themselves to science and make a worthy contribution to the development of the field. The prominent scholar, talented and hardworking Navoi scholar Suyima Ganiyeva is one such child of our people. When talking about Suyima Ganiyeva, there is absolutely no need to search for words and descriptions: both the words and the descriptions are born by themselves.

Because it is impossible to imagine the Uzbek textual studies, Navoi studies, and the publication of the texts of our classical literature of the 20th century without the name and activity of Suyima Ganiyeva. That is why the work of this highly intelligent scholar is well-known not only in our country but also in foreign countries such as Russia, Turkey, Iran, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan.

In our view, even if Suyima Ganiyeva were not occupied with science and research, she still could not live her life far from literature, especially our classical poetry. Because she was born with the natural ability to contemplate beauty and grace. For this reason, she takes a broad view of life and literary events and never puts personal feelings before historical and educational ones.

In her scientific research, she always searches meticulously, without giving way to random facts and data; the pleasure, knowledge, and naturalness in this never leave the reader indifferent.

It would be no exaggeration to say that Suyima Ganiyeva possesses almost all the virtues and qualities necessary for a true scholar - one with a sharp taste and an untiring researcher. First and foremost, she knows languages. She can read and write in Persian and Russian in an enviable manner. The most notable evidence of this is the translation of "Kalila and Dimna" into Uzbek, and the publication of works such as "Majolis un-nafois," "Holoti Sayyid Hasan Ardasher," and "Holoti Pahlavon Muhammad" in the ten-volume collection of Alisher Navoi's works in Russian, translated by Suyima Ganiyeva.

Suyima Ganiyeva's life is a life lived with the joy of dedicating her eyesight to ancient manuscripts and prestigious books created in the past, and delivering them to the people. After all, Suyima Ganiyeva is the one who prepares the collections of poems of our poets such as Gadoy, Husayn Bayqaro, Huvaydo, and Bayoniy for publication.

A service of Suyima Ganiyeva that deserves special attention and praise is her preparation of Alisher Navoi's works for publication. After the scholar published the scientific-critical text of "Majolis un-nafois," she presented the book "Navoi's Handwriting" to the readers. In the complete collection of Alisher Navoi's works (20 volumes), she prepared works such as "Majolis un-nafois," "Mahbub ul-qulub," "Munshaot," "Vaqfiya," "Hamsat ul-mutahayyirin," "Holoti Sayyid Hasan Ardasher," "Holoti Pahlavon Muhammad," "Nazm ul-javohir," and "Muhokamat ul-lugatayn" for publication with commentaries and translations, which is an inviolable proof of the scholar's diligence, zeal, and devotion.

Among the famous publications of recent years, several volumes of the 20-volume collection of Alisher Navoi came about thanks to the arduous labor of Suyima Ganiyeva. The publications "Navoi's Prose Grace," "Works Mentioned by Navoi," and Navoi's work "Hamsat ul-mutahayyirin" (with transliterated text, commentary, translation, and foreword), which are the result of the scholar's many years of research on Navoi's heritage, have been recognized as guides for textual scholars.

Suyima Ganiyeva is the creator of more than twenty books, pamphlets, and over three hundred scientific and popular-scientific articles. When you look through these, you acknowledge that the scholar has dedicated much of her time and strength to the research of Navoi's prose works. And you look at the ideological-artistic world of Navoi's prose with a special gaze, and feel satisfaction from the enrichment of your imagination and contemplation. After all, studying Navoi's prose heritage constitutes the most weighty and exemplary part of Suyima Ganiyeva's scientific activity.

The fact that almost 90 percent of the scientific heritage she created is dedicated to the work of Alisher Navoi gives us the right to call her the "Queen of Uzbek Navoi scholars." One can talk a lot about the giant-potential Navoi scholar Suyima Ganiyeva, who is a laureate of the Republican State Prize named after Beruni, a member of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, and awarded the "El-Yurt Hurmati" order. Her translation, translation studies, and mentoring activities are also worthy of praise.

Suyima Ganiyeva is as attentive and kind to her students as she is loyal to her teachers. Alongside her scientific activity, as a result of her many years of fruitful work at the republic's higher educational institutions, including the National University in Tashkent, the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, and the Tashkent State Conservatory, she has found a place in the hearts of very many people who have graduated from these halls of knowledge.

The reason is that the scholar is also demonstrating the potential to influence the youth in halls of knowledge through her scientific experience, through literary heritage, and through the exemplary lives of our wise thinkers and writers. In her lectures, she can very quickly take the listener into the mysterious world of classical literature. To find a path to the souls of her students, she charms people not only with her knowledge and work but also at the same time with her manners, culture, truthfulness, and, indeed, her sweet speech and tone of voice.

As a result, in every session, alongside education, an easy path is opened to Eastern upbringing, national spirituality, national spirit, and universal values. For this reason, they accepted with pleasure that their wise mentor was awarded the "El-Yurt Hurmati" order in 1999. Even today, Suyima Ganiyeva continues to teach students a number of subjects related to Navoi's work, classical literature, literary source studies, and translation studies.

As a mentor who has been able to express her reaction to all changes in the field of education during the years of independence with alertness, she compiled programs for educational subjects such as "Textual Studies of Navoi's Works," "Science of Eloquence," "Art of Insho," "Literary Relations of the West and East," and "Publication of Manuscripts" and presented them to the attention of field specialists. She made many efforts on the path to these programs forming into a subject at the level of modern requirements. In the educational textbook "History of Writing and the Art of Book-making," created in co-authorship with Prof. Qosimjon Sodiqov, she presented her many years of experience gathered on working with manuscript sources to students in the form of theoretical generalizations. At the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Suyima Ganiyeva herself continues to teach most of these subjects. Here, not only the students but also the instructors consider her their mentor.

Suyima Ganiyeva's appearances on television and radio have also charmed very many people. Because the scholar always knows very well how to express necessary thoughts and opinions interesting to literature fans in her programs and broadcasts.

Dear reader! Here is the list of our esteemed scholar's works in your hands. Do not be content with looking through them, definitely try to find and read them! Only then will you be fully convinced of who Suyima Ganiyeva is and to what high rank she has been able to rise in science. Only then will you admire the high statuses an ordinary Uzbek girl has been able to rise to in science and human perfection!

Suyima Ganiyeva's great services were worthily appreciated by our state, and in 2015 she was awarded the title of "Hero of Uzbekistan."
